in 1973 I met Paul Gibson for the first time. we had some jams at his place and he recorded this short piece on a cassette recorder, the earliest of myself playing tabla. with limited technical skill it shows I had grasped the basic concept of tala, and Kaida improvisation.

the swarmandal is an Indian zither used to accompany vocal music. having about 80 strings. one day I took the opportunity to record a snippet after retuning the instrument.
